On Pitti Uomo’s sidelines, Florence-based concept store Société Anonyme houses the first leg of a journey recounting a tale of style lasting 70 years, yet always contemporary: 10 moccasins and as many photos by Danish Sarah Stenfeldt, inspired by the work of Robert Longo

Torino, 6^th June 2018. For Pitti Immagine Uomo 94 (Firenze, Fortezza da Basso, June 12^th -15^th, 2018) Sebago^® is to open the first leg of THE LOAFERS GALLERY BY SEBAGO^®: 10 images by Danish photographer Sarah Stenfeldt, each featuring a totem exhibiting the shoe represented in the image on show.

Stenfeldt, who has collaborated with Milano stylist Francesca Cefis, interprets ten variants of Sebago^®’s moccasin, the American brand’s iconic footwear that first appeared in Maine in 1946: 7 shoes for men and 3 for women in as many black and white pictures. The images are inspired by the work of New York painter and sculptor Robert Longo, who achieved fame in the Eighties for the series Men in the Cities, where he portrayed men and women in tailored clothes – displaying sofisticated elegance, yet timeless and very contemporary – in unnatural, contorted poses.

THE LOAFERS GALLERY BY SEBAGO^® exhibition will be housed by Société Anonyme, one of the most important concept stores in Florence (via Giovan Battista Niccolini, 3/f), on Tuesday, June 12^th. Invite-only entry at 6:30 pm with aperitif and DJ set. From 8 pm to 9 pm free entry for everyone.
