(Alliance News) - The board of directors of BasicNet Spa approved the 2022 budget on Thursday, reporting a net income of EUR 30.0 million from EUR 20.3 million in 2021, up 48 percent. The board will also propose a dividend of EUR 0.18 per share, totaling about EUR 9 million, up 50 percent from the previous year, when it was EUR0.12 per share.
Ebitda as of December 31, 2022, amounted to EUR 60.9 million, up 38 percent from EUR 44.2 million in 2021. In contrast, Ebit amounted to EUR 46.1 million from EUR 31.6 million in 2021, up 46 percent.
Direct sales are EUR 312.7 million from EUR 241.6 million in 2021 and royalties from licensees are EUR 72.3 million from EUR 54.8 million for total sales of EUR 386.1 million up 34% from EUR 296.4 million.
Aggregate sales of licensees of products bearing the group's brands, developed worldwide by the licensee network and direct, amounted to EUR 1.27 billion, up 34% from the previous year.
Net financial position is negative EUR 141.7 million from negative EUR 61.7 million as of December 31, 2021. During 2022, the company explained in a note, dividends of EUR 6.1 million were paid and treasury shares of EUR 6.5 million were purchased. The group also acquired, at a cost of EUR 36.9 million, 100 percent of the share capital of K-Way France and invested EUR 9.9 million in the Real Estate business.
As for the future, based on the order book acquired and the expected contribution of royalty and sourcing commission flows, “it is possible to expect that the positive development of consolidated sales will be confirmed for the current fiscal year as well. However, the results of core operations remain contingent on the evolving global macroeconomic and geopolitical environment,” the statement said.
BasicNet trades in the red by 1.6 percent at EUR 5.60 per share.
